Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (hereinafter "Terms") set forth the conditions for the use of Shippo (hereinafter "the App"). Users (hereinafter "User" or "Users") are requested to read these Terms carefully before using the App. By downloading or using the App, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

Article 1 (Scope of Application)

These Terms apply to all relationships between Users and the operator of the App (hereinafter "Operator") regarding the use of the App.

Article 2 (Definitions)

  1. "Service" refers collectively to the services provided through the App, including saving, sharing, and managing pet photos and videos, growth records, weight management, care logs, and other related features.
  2. "Content" refers to text, images, videos, and other data that Users upload, post, or share through the App.

Article 3 (Account Registration)

  1. Account registration is required to use the Service. Users may create an account using their Apple ID or Google account.
  2. Users shall register accurate and up-to-date information and shall promptly update such information if any changes occur.
  3. Users are responsible for managing their own accounts and may not transfer or lend them to third parties.

Article 4 (Service Description)

  1. The App provides a photo album and record management service for dog owners.
  2. A free plan and a premium plan (paid) are available, and the features and storage capacity vary depending on the plan.
  3. The Operator may add, modify, or remove Service features without prior notice.

Article 5 (Premium Plan)

  1. The Premium Plan is offered through App Store subscriptions.
  2. Fees, payment methods, renewal, and cancellation conditions are governed by the App Store terms and the in-app instructions.
  3. Subscriptions will automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  4. Refunds after purchase are subject to the App Store refund policy.

Article 6 (Prohibited Activities)

Users shall not engage in any of the following activities when using the Service:

  1. Acts that violate laws, regulations, or public order and morals
  2. Acts related to criminal activity
  3. Acts that infringe upon the intellectual property rights, portrait rights, privacy rights, reputation, or other rights of the Operator or third parties
  4. Acts that place an excessive burden on the Service's servers or network
  5. Acts that interfere with the operation of the Service
  6. Unauthorized access or attempts thereof
  7. Harassment or defamation of other Users
  8. Registering false information
  9. Providing benefits to or cooperating with antisocial forces
  10. Any other acts deemed inappropriate by the Operator

Article 7 (Handling of Content)

  1. Copyright of Content uploaded by Users to the App remains with the respective Users.
  2. Users grant the Operator a non-exclusive license to use their Content to the extent necessary for the provision, improvement, and promotion of the Service.
  3. The Operator may take measures such as deletion or hiding of Content that violates these Terms or as required by applicable laws and regulations.

Article 8 (Data Storage)

  1. App data is stored on Firebase cloud services.
  2. The Operator makes reasonable efforts to preserve data but does not guarantee complete data preservation or recovery.
  3. Users are encouraged to back up their important data independently.

Article 9 (Suspension or Interruption of Service)

  1. The Operator may suspend or interrupt all or part of the Service without prior notice in the following cases:
    • When performing system maintenance, inspection, or updates
    • When provision of the Service becomes difficult due to force majeure events such as earthquakes, lightning, fire, or power outages
    • When the Operator otherwise deems it necessary
  2. The Operator shall not be liable for any damages incurred by Users due to suspension or interruption of the Service.

Article 10 (Disclaimer)

  1. The Operator does not warrant that the Service is free from defects, whether de facto or legal, including but not limited to defects in safety, reliability, accuracy, completeness, effectiveness, fitness for a particular purpose, security, errors, or bugs.
  2. The Operator shall not be liable for any damages incurred by Users arising from the use of the Service, except in cases of intentional misconduct or gross negligence on the part of the Operator.
  3. The Operator assumes no responsibility for any disputes between Users, including those arising from album sharing features.

Article 11 (Account Deletion)

  1. Users may delete their account through the settings screen within the App.
  2. Upon account deletion, the User's data will be deleted. Data recovery after deletion is not possible.
  3. The Operator may suspend or delete a User's account without prior notice if the User violates these Terms.

Article 12 (Changes to the Terms)

  1. The Operator may modify these Terms as deemed necessary.
  2. The revised Terms shall take effect from the time they are posted within the App or on the website.
  3. Users will be notified of significant changes through in-app notifications or other appropriate means.

Article 13 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

  1. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.
  2. Any disputes arising in connection with the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the location of the Operator's principal place of business as the court of first instance.
